NEWS AND CALENDAR
"Asia Talk" has produced a splendid 22-minute profile on the Kitsune Ensemble, featuring composer/director Billy Fox, pianist Yayoi Ikawa, clarinetist Gary Pickard, bassist Yoshi Waki, and drummer Arei Sekiguchi.

We recently wrapped up edits of the film of our "Kaidan Suite" collaboration with theater directors Tomi Tsunoda and Andrew Scoville (the stage production was funded by the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council). You can view clips and a trailer from this production on our youtube channel. The film was shot by Rick Sarmiento, produced by Robert DeMarco and Jorge Rivera, and edited by Robert DeMarco.

Blackbirds & Bullets, featuring Kitsune Ensemble members Billy Fox, Gary Pickard, and Arei Sekiguchi (along with Miki Hirose, Evan Mazunik, James Ilgenfritz, and Julianne Carney) have recorded a new album entitled "Dulces" for the esteemed Portuguese label Clean Feed. A 2010 release is anticipated.

Blackbirds & Bullets performed at Washington DC's Kennedy Center on January 27th, followed by a performance at Club Bossa in Adams Morgan with Frode Gjerstad, Nick Stephens, and Paal Nilssen-Love. You can see our Kennedy Center concert here.


ARCHIVES
Our multi-disciplinary collaboration with Tomi Tsunoda and Andrew Scoville during the Spring Fever Festival was a smashing success, and we look forward to presenting this expanded version of The Kaidan Suite in the near future. Tech rehearsals and performance were professionally filmed and are currently being edited. Look for an announcement about its broadcast in August!
